Tatiana Tift is a Brooklyn-based writer and director whose work moves between narrative, dance, and experimental cinema. With a background in dance and performance, she approaches filmmaking through the language of movement and music.

Her films center women interiority, girlhood, femininity and explore identity, folklore, longing, and place, often unfolding in whimsical worlds where fantasy and emotional realism overlap. Tatiana uses movement to guide character, narrative, and camera, allowing gesture, rhythm, music, and theatricality to reveal the inner desires of her characters. Across her work, music and movement become narrative languages, creating spaces where memory and imagination can coexist.

Her films include the award-winning shorts el campo, DAWN, and Penny for Your Thoughts, which have screened at festivals including Garden State Film Festival, YoFiFest, NoBudge, and Docs Without Borders International Film Festival. Her latest short, Annabel Lee Blues, is a queer blues reimagining of Edgar Allan Poe’s “Annabel Lee.” She is currently developing Annabel Lee Blues II, alongside Suburban Animals, a coming-of-age horror short, and Crescent 19, a comedic mockumentary about her travels with her father.

Tatiana is the founder of Circadian Summer, a multidisciplinary creative entity based in Brooklyn that blends zines, handbound books, film, and media arts. Through the connection of film and print, Circadian Summer serves as a home for work exploring identity, memory, and environment through a magical and stylized lens, creating a space for continued worldbuilding across mediums.

Alongside her creative practice, she works as a media arts educator in New York City, where she teaches filmmaking, content creation, and digital literacy to young people.
